Support our international debut album: Sidekick
This album represents Ziggy and Miles’ history and brotherly dynamic on and off stage. The title track “Sidekick” was written for the brothers by award winning composer Katie Jenkins. Her work intentionally inflates and satires the brothers’ relationship with musical bickering and sparring virtuosity. This album will also feature two major works from the classical guitar cannon, Tonadilla by Joaquin Rodrigo and Jongo by Paulo Bellinati. To illustrate their commitment to expanding the guitar duo repertoire, the album also features arrangements of popular works for piano including Valses Poeticos by Enrique Granados and the brothers’ arrangement of Clair de Lune by Claude Debussy. Continuing their mission for promoting Australian music internationally, the album features a new commission by Melbourne based guitarist/composer, Ken Murray. His piece, Trin Warren Tam-boore reflects the joy Murray felt visiting the wetlands of the same name during the COVID lockdowns. The album will finish with renowned Australian composer, Nigel Westlake’s Songs from the Forest.
The album is set to release in July 2023 under Australia's longest lasting classical music label, Move Records.
